# Playground > The full IDE on a sample BigQuery project, with no Google account and nothing to connect. Use it to try completions, diagnostics, and Prism AI before you decide to sign in. Source: https://docs.querylab.io/getting-started/playground/ **Query 1 · Playground** ```sql SELECT country, COUNT(*) AS users FROM `ace-analytics.warehouse.users` GROUP BY country ORDER BY users DESC LIMIT 10 ``` ## Starting it Open [app.querylab.io](https://app.querylab.io), tick the Terms of Service checkbox, and click **Open the Playground** on the **Playground** card. If you already signed in and reached the **Connect to BigQuery** step, **Try Playground** does the same thing. You land in the editor with the sample project loaded in the schema tree. Queries run against real BigQuery on a sample dataset. ## What works and what doesn't | | Playground | Signed in | | -------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------- | | Per-query limit | 1 GB | Your own limit, default 100 GB | | Daily budget | 50 GB, 200 queries | Your own [budgets](https://docs.querylab.io/writing-sql/cost-limits/) | | Prism AI | 10 requests per day | Plan quota | | Query history | Sample history plus what you ran in this browser | Your BigQuery job history | | Save queries, share links, import data | Not available | Available | The per-query limit is fixed: every tab is created with 1 GB and the status-bar popover says **Limited to 1 GB in Playground**. A budget panel in the sidebar shows what's left for today: **sidebar** **Playground**

Limits: 1 GB/query, 50 GB/day

The panel refreshes after every query. When the daily allowance is gone, queries stop and a **Playground Limit Reached** dialog offers **Sign Up Free** or **Maybe Later**. The counter resets at midnight UTC. > Usage analytics are always on in Playground; the opt-out (Settings → Privacy → Privacy & Data Storage → **Help improve Querylab.io**) applies to signed-in accounts. ## Signing in from Playground Click **Continue with Google** in the budget panel or the playground footer, or **Log in with Google** in the status-bar limit popover. You go straight to Google sign-in and then to the [Connect to BigQuery](https://docs.querylab.io/getting-started/connecting-to-bigquery/) steps. > **Playground tabs are not carried over.** Playground keeps its tabs in its own storage, separate from any account. They stay there if you come back to Playground, but they do not follow you into your account when you sign in, so copy any SQL you want to keep before you click Continue with Google.
